Procurement Planning

The procurement plan module within Matrix provides a powerful tool for use with requisitions and purchase orders. It can be utilised to define and set measurable targets for effective management and co-ordination of the material availability link to the planned construction schedule.

Utilising this procurement plan module minimises efforts during project tendering and speeds up the project initiation and start-up process.

Procurement Planning begins by identifying major procurement items and associated key events (milestones). Plan dates are entered against the milestones based on the milestone duration and the item required on site date.

As procurement progresses, actual dates are entered and the subsequent forecast date for each milestone is updated to allow monitoring of actual versus planned progress. This also ensures that the procurement progress runs as smoothly as possible by providing advance warning of potential delays.

The Procurement Plan system automates this process using a database system to record the details and monitor progress. This offers many advantages over spreadsheets which are frequently used for this purpose.

Some of the main benefits and features of using a system to administer and control the Procurement Planning process and workflow are as follows :-
