Welding Quality Assurance / Material Traceability

Welding Quality Assurance SystemMatriX has a comprehensive system for welding quality control and material traceability called AssuremaX. It Includes progress monitoring of welds and NDT inspections utilised in Piping and Structural fabrication projects.

The system offers effective material traceability and quality control providing quality assurance for a project fabrication process. Also included is progress monitoring functionality covering all operational components in the fabrication process.

Registration of personnel and their qualifications, procedures, drawings, welds (and their processes), inspection requirements (catering for all inspection types) and inspection results through to report package generation and completion is also included.

Quality Control functions are an integral part of the system and all required QC related items are addressed including welds, repairs and re-weld details as well as fit-up, visual, radiography, ultrasonic, magnetic particle and dye-penetrant examinations.

Using AssuremaX for welding quality control and material traceability enables projects with the most stringent quality assurance standards to be delivered.

Weld ProgressFull status and progress information and material traceability is maintained for material items (both piping and structural) detailing the location and status within the fabrication process. This also enables the system to record and display the progress of welding and NDT inspection at any point in time and also ensures that full material reconciliation can be performed as soon as the project is completed.

AssuremaX delivers all the major benefits that one would normally associate with a comprehensive and proven system. Return on investment and a real competitive advantage can soon be gained as the system delivers numerous benefits, including reduced cost due to major improvements in efficiency and productivity, reduced manual effort including elimination of duplication of data input into multiple systems and centralisation of all information in a single database.

Weld Inspection Record

Summary of Key Features

  • Maintain lists of all personnel (welders and inspectors) and their qualifications
  • Maintains lists of drawings
  • Maintains lists of all welds, repairs and re-welds by drawing
  • Maintains all information about welds i.e. process, procedure, welders etc.
  • Maintains the status of all welds (visual, welded, inspected etc.)
  • Records all inspection results for RT, UT, DP, MPI etc.
  • Produces inspection reports for all types of inspection
  • Full audit trail and traceability for material and welds
  • Produces analysis and defect reports for QA/QC management
  • Integrates and interfaces easily to other related systems

AssuremaX can be integrated with other MatriX modules where it utilises drawing information, part catalogue build functionality, weld counts from the Takeoff / BOM system, and operational information from the Material Scheduling system. It can also utilise receipt information from a combination of the Procurement and Stock Control systems. With a central fully integrated database, information is entered only once and is available to all MatriX modules.

The system is backed up by a comprehensive range of off-site support services. All clients are offered assistance with installation and start-up, although the system's intrinsic ease of use means that such help is often not required. In addition, specialist on-site training can be tailored to suite the needs of the individual users. Once the system is installed and operational, support is provided via an email support facility with remote dial-in support being available if required.

Weld Procedure Documentation

To support the welding QA/QC process, MatriX also contains a module to assist with the formulation and creation of Weld Procedures. WeldmaX is a comprehensive weld procedure management system, which catalogues and controls all associated weld procedure documents (PQR, WPP & WPS) and assists in the creation of new documents.
